IMOG was established by Dr Bruno Giorgio (Obstetrician and Gynaecologist) and Dr Steven Scroggs (Obstetrician and Gynaecologist) in collaboration with David Moore (CEO, RAWCS), Dr Andrew Childs (Past President, RANZCOG) and Dr Afzal Mahmood (Discipline of Public Health, University of Adelaide http://health.adelaide.edu.au/publichealth/staff/mahmood_afzal.html). The development of the IMOG program in Timor-Leste has been facilitated by Darryl Mills (RAWCS Liaison Officer, Dili).
IMOG has accumulated a large number of specialists in obstetrics & gynaecology, midwifery, anaesthetics, paediatrics, medical imaging, laboratory science and public health willing to donate their time and skills in support of this programme. Support from RANZCOG consists of educational resources and access to other medical colleges across Australia, New Zealand and overseas.
The Discipline of Public Health, University of Adelaide provides technical support both in Australia and overseas in areas of public and primary health care and contacts in many of the world's health organisations.
IMOG is a project of the Rotary Club of Morialta, receiving support from RAWCS Central Region in S.A. encompassing Rotary Districts 9520 and 9500.
